DB to Excel 




This is a very handy feature to create the excel file from a Database. This feature is very much helpful in database table structure analysis, reuse of already created tables to another project. It also provides a better understanding for someone who finds it difficult on decipher table description and foreign key relationship. Additionally, by using this feature you can recreate the database after generating the excel file and do whatever modification  you require for recreating the database by using Excel to DB [Link] feature. You can create excel template on the following types of databases:

  1. MS SQL.
  2. MySQL.
  3. SQLite.
  4. MS Access.


Click on Create Excel from DB.

 

The Excel Template creator will open.

                      

Select the Database type,



MS SQL 


Note: If you are creating excel template on “MS SQL Server with Windows Authentication”, Select the MS SQL Integrated Security option. 



Enter Server Credentials along with Database name. (Please ensure that given database is present in your server).

 

 

 

 

If you are creating excel template on “MS SQL Server with Server Authentication” Select the MS SQL option.

 

Enter Server Credentials along with Database name. (Please ensure that given database is present in your server).

 

To test the connection click on Test connection button, you will get a confirmation message upon success, if you have provided proper credentials.



Click on Generate


Excel Template file will get generate as per selected database table structure


After creation of the Excel workbook and its tables, Confirmation message will pop-up. 

Save Excel file in any directory which is having read and write permission.


MySQL 

For MySQL Database select the MySQL option from the list.


Select the path of MySQL Database drivers which are installed in your system. 
Ex: In the following path you will get the reference files

Path:  C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Connector Net 6.6.5\Assemblies\v2.0\MySQL.Data.dll

 

Enter Server Credentials along with Database name. (Please ensure that given database is present in your server).

 

To test the connection, click on Test connection button, you will get a confirmation message upon success, if you have provided the proper credentials.


Click on Generate


Excel Template file will get generate as per selected database table structure.


After creation of the Excel workbook and its tables, Confirmation message will pop-up. 

Save Excel file in any directory which is having read and write permission.

 

SQLite 

Select the SQLite Database file. 

 

Enter password if database file is password protected.

 

 

To test the connection click on Test connection button, you will get a confirmation message upon success, if you have provided proper credentials.

 

Click on Generate

After creation of the Excel workbook and its tables, Confirmation message will pop-up.

MS ACCESS


Select the MS Access Database file. 

 

Enter password if database file is password protected.
